Mrs Jordan and the future King William IV

Inscription

Ashberry Cottage, here lived, William, Duke of Clarence, later King William IV and Mrs Dorothea Jordan, actress.

The Duke and Mrs Jordan lived at various addresses in and around London, mainly at Bushy House, but we could find Ashberry Cottage in no creditable source.

Site: Mrs Jordan and the future King William IV (1 memorial)

SE23, Honor Oak Road, 62, Ashberry Cottage

The original cottage was demolished in 1820 so that this house could be built. The new hosue was incorrectly named for Joseph Ashbarry who owned it in the 1830s and 1840s.
