New River Path Canonbury gardens

Erection date: 29/5/1954

Inscription

The Rt. Hon. Herbert Morrison, CH, MP, on 29 May 1954, on the occasion of opening these gardens.

Site: New River Path Canonbury gardens (1 memorial)

N1, Canonbury Grove / New River Path

The plaque and tree are to the right of this dumpy little round brick house which was built in the 1820's as a watchman's hut; his job being to prevent swimming, fishing, etc. in this soon-to-be drinking water (we all know what swimmers do in water but fish are even worse!).
