Olympic Way - 1948 plaque

Erection date: 6/7/1948

Inscription

Olympic Way, named and opened by the Rt. Hon. Alfred Barnes MP, Minister of Transport.
6th July 1948

Unveiled in its new location on 19 April 2023, the same day that a plaque at the other end of Olympic Way was unveiled.

Site: Olympic Way - 1948 plaque (1 memorial)

HA9, Olympic Way - station end

Erected in 1948, originally on Olympic Way, the plaque was relocated in 1993 to a nearby scrubland area just above the Bobby Moore Bridge by Wembley Park tube station. It was rediscovered, in a sorry state of repair, in time for the stadium’s centenary in 2023. It was restored and re-erected in this newly created garden area.
