Inscription

The Old Fire Station Rotherhithe
{By an image of two WW2 firemen:}
Restored by Barratt in memory of the crews of this station who served with great valour, particularly during the second world war.

Site: Pageants Wharf fire station (1 memorial)

SE16, Rotherhithe Street, 241, Old Fire Station Court

Pageant Wharf was the Thames waterfront from Lavender Lock to Pageant Stairs, basically this block. The 1887 Goad Insurance Plan of London Vol. VII: sheet 169-3 shows it as 'M. G. Freebody Timber Wharf'.

Unrelated to this plaque, but interesting nontheless: there's an obelisk on the waterfront at Pageant Stairs. suggests that it was installed by LDDC and that it is placed on the extended symmetrical axis of the Canary Wharf Estate, aligning with Canary Wharf Tower.
