The was opened in 2000. The round hole in the roof of the Pavilion represents a searchlight. In our photo the lady in the orange dress and her friends are sitting on the bench with the inscription.

The land had been in industrial use since the late 1860s. The Park was created by the London Docklands Development Corporation as part of their development of the area.
