Plaque

Queen Mary

Erection date: 7/6/1967

Inscription

Queen Mary 1867 - 1953
{On the background behind her shoulder:}
W. Reid Dick

Queen Mary died in 1953 at her home, Marlborough House, which is the building behind this plaque.  The unveiling, by the Queen, took place in the centenary year of Queen Mary's birth.  Present were most of the senior Royal Family and, very unusually, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.  We thank Jamie Davis for finding to the British Pathe news film of the unveiling.
