Queen Victoria statue - Kensington Palace

Erection date: 1893

Inscription

{On the bronze cartouche on the plinth at the front:}
Victoria R. - 1837
Here in front of the palace where she was born and where she resided until her accession, her loyal Kensington subjects erect this statue, the work of her daughter, to commemorate fifty years of her reign.

Oh, dear, her maj seems to be melting away. The statue was a gift from the Kensington Golden Jubilee Memorial Executive Committee. We thought that this statue might have been their sole activity but we found references to some "urn lamp bases" given by them, but no pictures available.
