Shaquille Smith

Erection date: 5/4/2009

Inscription

Shaquilla Smith (a.k.a. Fest)
Sunrise 21st January 1994 - Sunset 31 August 2008.
14 years - too young - too new - Too soon to be so still
Too much to take your silence in - Too many lives to fill
14 years can't be enough - To leave your legacy
Not enough - Never enough - To weave your memory.

We stand as one to protect our children and our future against violence - churches of Hackney, Palm Sunday 2009.

The plaque is surrounded by a small flower garden.

Site: Shaquille Smith (1 memorial)

E9, St Thomas's Place

As with so many London parks this is a ex-graveyard, but is unusually secluded and, at least on the day we visited, had a very pleasing air of abandonment, contrasting with the well-tended area around the plaque. To take the photo we stood in the passageway leading to St Thomas's Recreation Ground.
