Sir John Barnard - Royal Exchange - lost

Erection date: 1747

Commissioned by a group of merchants and erected in a niche at the Royal Exchange. We assume the niche was facing onto the internal courtyard but it's possible that it was on the outward facing wall.

The commentary on this suggests that Barnard had recently retired from public life, though he did not leave parliament until 1761.
