Sir John Dankworth CBE 1927 - 2010. The celebrated jazz musician, bandleader, composer and international jazz ambassador lived here in his early years.

A  of the unveiling refers to a previous plaque at this site, which contained spelling mistakes and called him Johnny, which he didn't like.
