Plaque

Sir Thomas Gresham - Old Broad Street

Inscription

In a house on this site lived Sir Thomas Gresham, 1519 - 1579.
The Corporation of the City of London

Site: Sir Thomas Gresham - Old Broad Street (1 memorial)

EC2, Old Broad Street

This plaque spent at least 4 years almost impossible to see, on a wall a few metres to the south, with a retail outlet plonked in front of it.  That all got demolished c. 2016 and by 2019 the plaque reappeared here - not ideal but at least you can see it, on the dark grey wall below the gate.

Can you see a pink thing on the roof almost directly above the plaque?  We took some zoomed in photos and it appears to be a glass or plastic form, possible in the shape of a creature such as a goat (it seems to have a tail).  Some guerrilla art?
