This is the site of the house to which the tablet below was fixed until it was demolished in 1910.

On this site there used to be a sister to Hotel Russell, also designed by Fitzroy Doll and erected in 1898. It was demolished in the 1960's and all that remains are the statues that adorn the car-park.
