Site: St Pancras Way bridge - opened (1 memorial)

NW1, St Pancras Way

In our photo this large plaque can be seen on the pier to the right of the railings.

The foundation stone for the bridge had been laid just 5 months earlier.

A report on the King’s Road St. Pancras Power Station, immediately to the south-west of this bridge, suggests that the original bridge may have needed reconstruction to facilitate the transport of the coal to the power station from the railway coal depots immediately to the east of the bridge (now all replaced with housing).
