Strand Underpass - London County Council
The underpass was opened on 21st January 1964 by the Right Hon Lord Morrison of Lambeth.

The Strand underpass is a one-way vehicle tunnel connecting Waterloo Bridge to Kingsway near Holborn. Opened in 1964, most of it was built within the former Kingsway tramway subway, which closed in the 1950s.
