Erection date: 2015

Inscription

The Sun
A public house called the Sun stood on this site from at least 1722. In September 1940 a wartime bomb landed on the pub killing 20 people. The only person to survive was a barmaid who dived to the floor behind the bar. Rebuilt after the war, the last Sun was demolished in 2013.
