Swedish War Hospital

During the Great War, 1914 - 18, this building was occupied by The Swedish War Hospital for British wounded.

Above the entrance there is a decorative cartouche on which one can still, just about read: "Central Institute for Swedish Gymnastics". This building was designed by Forsyth & Maule in 1910. It became a hospital in 1914. c.1918 it was purchased by London County Council and renamed LCC College of Physical Education.
