Swiss Embassy

Erection date: 14/5/1970

Inscription

This stone was laid jointly by the Swiss Ambassador, Rene Keller and The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Leonard Pearl to commemorate the rebuilding of the Swiss Embassy on its traditional site, 14th May 1970.

Site: Swiss Embassy (1 memorial)

W1, Bryanston Place, 16 - 18

Designed by the Swiss modernist architect Jacques Schader, this is quite a modest building, and for its date, a pleasant addition to the streetscape. The ground floor arcade provides not just visual interest but a useful facility for the pedestrian on rainy days.
