Bust

Unknown bust 2

Site: 2 unknown busts (2 memorials)

SW1, South Eaton Place, 26

Bust 1, to the south, shows some damage but, we hope you agree, both busts represent the same man. But who?

Only a few months later we came another house, in Sussex Street SW1 (corner Westmoreland Place), with its porch similarly decorated, but there we find the busts of a man and a woman. Since the woman's garment has slipped and is displaying rather more of her bosom (50%) than would be acceptable for an actual woman we have to assume that she and her companion do not represent real people.

Which makes us think again about the portrait nature of this duplicated man.
