Inscription

{Below the Fruiterers's crest:}
The Worshipful Company of Fruiterers
In the late 16th and early 17th Century the Fruiterers' Company of the City of London had their hall in Worcester house close by this site.

A. E. Redsell Esq - Master
Lt. Col L. G. French - Clerk
MCMXCVIII {1998}

The plaque doesn't mention Fruiterers Passage but we believe the unveiling of the plaque coincided with the Passage being opened by the Lord Mayor (Sir David Howard) in the presence of Sheriff Pauline Halliday (The first woman Lay Sheriff), a former Clerk to the Fruiterers Company.

EC4, Riverside Walkway, Fruiterers Passage

Fruiterers Passage, part of the City Riverside Walkway, is a pedestrian subway running under the north end of Southwark Bridge.  It is lined with tiled murals of images showing the local area, Southwark Bridge in particular.

The plaque can be seen in our photo; it is the dark oblong on the wall between the lights.
