In you can see that the set-back building originally had a 6-bay plain Georgian-style front elevation. The northern third, which can be seen down the side alley, was re-fronted 1908. It can be seen before its refacing, on : 'View Wrights Dairy, 46 Old Church Street, Chelsea by Walter Greaves on artnet."
The following may refer to just the northern third or the whole building - it's never clear.
This is numbered 46a or 45a (reports differ) and in 1964 started as a small recording studio at 46a Old Church Street, Chelsea, London SW3 and was the passion of two friends who set it up, Geoff Frost and John Wood." has a lot of information about Sound Techniques in this building. When they moved in "... the ground floor had a cobbled floor and looked like a garage with a pottery leasing part of the floor. It had a gentle slope...". This would be to facilitate hygienic cleaning and would be expected in a building that was used for processing milk. Sound Techniques moved out in 1974 and Olympic Sound Studios took over and stayed until the early 1980s. In 1997 it was converted to residential.
