This pub has existed since at least 1861. Around 1911 it was called the Albion. have a 2018 photo showing the original Charringtons tiled frontage, hidden by the facia board in our 2021 photo. The business currently (2023) on site is Coupette, a cocktail bar.

has "Charrington Brewery was founded in Bethnal Green, London, in the early 18th century by Robert Westfield" but we can't discover where exactly. Lots of online sites refer to what is now the Anchor Retail Park, but that's where the brewery moved to, in 1757.
