Site: Colin Hunter (1 memorial)
W14, Melbury Road, 14
14 Melbury Road, named Lugar House, was designed by J. J. Stevenson for Colin Hunter and built in 1876. It was a huge house and studio where he kept company with other celebrated artists. This confirms its size. It was destroyed by bombing during WW2, and this block of flats looks like very 50s to us.
Strangely, this shows the plot empty - we have no explanation other than: even map-makers have to be allowed to make mistakes.
Bonus fact: outside of our photo, to the right, is a gnome garden, more like a village, with houses, shops, a wood yard, a fishing pond and bridge. Find some children and take them.
