Poet. Born Lombard Street. A childhood illness left him only 4 and a half feet tall, hunchbacked, crippled and with chronic pain. Best known for his satirical poems. Also a wit: "And all who told it added something new, and all who heard it, made enlargements too." "An honest man's the noblest work of God." Died at his home in Cross Deep, Twickenham (where can still be seen). Buried next to his parents in Twickenham church.
