United Secession minister. Born Berwickshire, Scotland. Moved to London in 1782 and served the Wells Street church for the rest of his life. Co-founder of the London Missionary Society and supported a number of other groups including the British and Foreign Bible Society. Died at home in Salisbury Place. Buried in Bunhill burial ground.
