Lieutenant of the Royal Field Artillery. Buried  in plot XIV.A.4 in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium. He belonged to the Le May family of hop factors, whose former premises at 67 Borough High Street are shown in the photograph.  See for some splendid research on the Le May hop business.
