From the Sub Fire Station 6W, Cheyne Place. Died in a fire which took the lives of seven firemen, known as "The Wednesday".

Andrew Behan has kindly carried out some research on this man: Reginald Bruce Wakeman was born on 17 January 1905, one of at least eight children of Walter Wakeman and Alice Wakeman, née Hester. His father was a Milk Carrier. On 5 February 1905 he was baptised at Christ Church, Marylebone and the family was living at 3 Highworth Street, Marylebone. The 1911 census shows the family living at 35 Huntsworth Mews, Marylebone. Electoral register records for 1930 and 1931 show him living with his mother and a sister at 23 Boston Street, London, N.W.1, but they had all moved to 78 Boston Place, N.W.1 on the 1932 electoral register.

In 1935 he married Ivy Constable and they lived with her family at 81 Ashmore Road, London, W.9. He joined the Auxiliary Fire Service and died, aged 36 years, as a result of injuries sustained by enemy action at Fire Station 6-Brompton, 18 South Parade, Chelsea on 17 April 1941. His body was buried in Section C, Mill Hill Cemetery, Milespit Hill, London, NW7 2RR.
