Beatrice Mary Drake was born 31 October 1906 in Edmonton, Middlesex, the fifth of the ten children of Walter John Drake (1879-1952) and Sophie Frances Drake née Harris (1878-1950). Her father was a general labourer.
The 1911 census shows her living at 30 Gilpin Grove, Upper Edmonton, with her parents and six of her siblings.
She married Sidney Morley Evans (1906-1941) in 1938 in the Shoreditch registration district and they had one son, Derrick M. Evans (1940-1941).
The 1939 England and Wales Register shows her and her husband living at 43 Poets Road, Islington and her occupation was recorded as a millinery copyist.
She was killed, aged 34 years, on 19 April 1941, together with her husband, a Gunner in the Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery, and their child at their home, 43 Poets Road, during a German air raid. Their bodies were not found until the following day.
The family were buried together on 26 April 1941 in Section J, Grave 23334 in the Islington and St Pancras Cemetery, 278 High Road, London, N2 9AG.
Administration of her estate was granted to her parents on 1 July 1941 and her effects totalled £277-2s-3d.
She is additionaly commemorated in the Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour, held near St George's Chapel, Westminster Abbey and also in the London Borough of Islington's .
