Bernice McNaughton

Bernice McNaughton MBE JP moved from Trinidad to London in 1961.

Born in Trinidad. 1961 she came to London, Shepherd's Bush initially, and worked for nine years with the Foreign Languages Division of the Central Office of Information. Lived in Fulham and in 1968 moved to Greenford where she remained for the rest of her life.

Early 1960s she founded the Trinidad Folk Singers who would get together with other friends from the Caribbean for singing, art, folk music and painting. McNaughton and this group were founding participants in the Notting Hill Carnival.

In 2007 she was awarded the MBE for her services to the community in Greenford.
