British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection / Cruelty Free International

Founded in Bristol by Frances Power Cobbe, who had earlier founded the NAVS. 2012 it joined another organisation and rebranded as Cruelty Free International.

For completeness we should mention the Animal Defence and Anti-Vivisection Society, founded in 1903 by Lizzy Lind af Hageby and the Duchess of Hamilton. Hageby was one of the initiators of the Brown Dog affair. Damer Dawson was at one time the organising secretary. The ADAVS was wound up in 1965 on the death of Hageby.

For yet another anti-vivisection organisation, the World League for Protection of Animals, see Anna Louisa Woodward.
