provided the following information: "War Service: Private 44252 HERBERT CHARLES GUILLERET of 1st battalion Cambridgeshire Regiment was killed in action on 5 September 1918, aged 34. Location of Memorial: He is buried in Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension. He is remembered on the Lewisham Military Hospital memorial outside University Hospital Lewisham and on the now lost Lewisham Board of Guardians Memorial Board. [where his rank is given as Sergeant]. The inscription describes him as one of ‘the officers of this institution’ and the 1911 census gives his occupation as 'Poor Law clerk' both of which suggest he was employed by the Lewisham Workhouse and Infirmary before it became a military hospital in 1915. Details: He was 34. He was born in Barnes, the son of Alexandre and Mercy Guilleret, of Morden, Surrey. He was the husband of Dinah Guilleret, of 18, Whatley Avenue, Merton Park.
