Captain George Sampson Elliston

Captain George Sampson Elliston

Born Ipswich. Trained as a barrister. In WW1 he served in the Royal Army Medical Corp and rose to be captain. He was awarded a Military Cross on 3 June 1918. 1929 became a Member of the Corporation of the City of London. Conservative MP for Blackburn 1931-45. Knighted in 1944. Chairman of the Chairman of the City of London Schools Committee in 1936.
