Our colleague, Andrew Behan, states that Charles Sackville Adams was born on 17 October 1948, the younger child of Edmond Thomas Adams (1907-1995) and Alice Joan Adams née Graham (1913-1994). His birth was registered in the 4th quarter of 1948 in the Newcastle upon Tyne Registration, Northumberland, (later Tyne and Wear). His sister was Louisa Adams whose birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1947, also in the Newcastle upon Tyne Registration District.
He married Betty C. McAskie (b. 19 September 1944 in Peebles, Peeblesshire, Scotland) in the 2nd quarter of 1980 in the Haringey Registration District, Greater London. They had four children: Patrick Adams; Kate Adams; Thomas Henry Adams and George Charles Adams.
The confirms that he was the Chief Executive of Hyde Charitable Trust from 25 March 1994 until he resigned 4 December 1995 and that the correspondence address for the charity was 6 Curzon Road, London, N10 2RA. Electoral registers between 2003 and 2005 also list him at this address but in 2006 he was shown at 9 Firemans Cottages, Fortis Green, London, N10 3PB.
His death, aged 57 years, on 5 May 2006 was registered in the 2nd quarter of 2006 in the Camden Registration District, Greater London.
He is commemorated as Charlie Adams on a plaque at Charlie Adams Court, Cornelia Street, London, N7.
