Chiman Mahanlal Shah

There is some confusion about the spelling of this man's name. We know that he was killed on his 36th birthday in the Moorgate tube disaster.

His death was registered as Chiman Mahanlal Shah in the 2nd quarter of 1975 in the Stepney Registration District, London, and the register confirms his date of birth as 28 February 1939.

Probate records show him as Chimanlal Mohanlal Shah of 126 Russell Avenue, London, N22 and that he died on 28 February 1975. Administration of his estate was granted on 2 June 1975 and his effects totalled £28,154.

We have opted to record him using the name he was registered as at the time of his death. It is . He is shown as 'SHAH, CHIMAN' on the Moorgate tube disaster memorial at Finsbury Square, London, EC2.
