Christopher Newton-Carter

United Kingdom citizen who died in the terrorist attacks in America on 11 September 2001.

Christopher Newton-Carter was born on 17 December 1949 in Hampstead, the son of Andre Newton-Carter (1919-1978) and Linda T. Newton-Carter née Rebonato (1915-2007). His brother, Mark Newton-Carter was born in 1951 and his sister, Teresa M. Newton-Carter was born in 1954. Electoral registers from 1953 to 1956 show the family residing at 23 Mowbray Road, Edgware and from 1957 onwards at 48 Greyhound Hill, London, NW4.

He was educated at a Catholic boarding school and attended Sheffield University. He moved to New York City, USA, in the mid-1980s and married his wife, Susan, in 1992. Together they lived in Middletown, New Jersey, USA.

He was an associate director, in charge of Information Technology, for the investment banking company of Sandler O'Neill & Partners and died, aged 51 years, in his office on the 104th Floor, South Tower, 2 World Trade Centre, Manhattan, New York, USA.
