Christopher Wade

 Hampstead historian. Born in Bradford. Attended Trinity College, Cambridge, was a Flight Lieutenant in the RAF in WW2, joined the BBC and rose to become head of the television script unit. Married Diana his secretary there and in 1956 moved to Willoughby Road where he lived until his death. Retired in 1975 and took up local history. Diana died suddenly in 1991.

Author of many books mainly about Hampstead's history. One of the “magnificent seven” who saved Burgh House where he founded Hampstead Museum with Diana in 1979.
