Clapham Parochial School

Clapham Parochial School

Establish in 1812, the school moved to Macaulay Road when it outgrew its previous site at the apex of Rectory Grove and North Street.  It moved out of Macaulay Road in 1974 and the Muscular Dystrophy Group took over the building for some years, renaming it Nattrass House. In 1999 it was converted to a private residence.

There is still a school building on the Rectory Grove site, but later than 1812, or even 1839, so perhaps the school occupied both sites, or another school moved into the Rectory Grove site.

Source: which has images of buildings on both sites, and also photos of the building post-conversion.
