Taverns and alehouses provided drink and possibly food, whereas inns also provided bed and board for you and your horses.  Innholders received their first charter from Henry VIII in 1514Â
We don't know for sure that the HPEA is the "Hyde Park Estate" that erected the Dearmer plaque but it's the best candidate that we could find.
