Pilot and railwayman. Co-pilot with the former British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) and later British Airways. Managing director of London Underground Ltd between 1988 and 1998, and chairman between 1998 and 2000. Created Baron Tunniclffe of Bracknell in 2004.
