Derrick Evans

Derrick M. Evans was born in 1940, the son of Sidney Morley Evans (1906-1941) and Beatrice Mary Evans née Drake (1906-1941). His birth was registered in the 3rd quarter of 1940 in the Islington registration district.

He was killed, aged 9 months, on 19 April 1941, together with his parents in a German air raid at their home at 43 Poets Road, Islington. Their bodies were not found until the following day.

The family were buried together on 26 April 1941 in Section J, Grave 23334 in the Islington and St Pancras Cemetery, 278 High Road, London, N2 9AG.

He is additionally commemorated in the Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour, held near St George's Chapel, Westminster Abbey and also in the London Borough of Islington's .
