Donald Blakeslee

Colonel Donald James Matthew Blakeslee was born on 11 September 1917 in , Lake County, Ohio, USA, the eldest of the three sons of James Harold Blakeslee (1897-1953) and Maria Fanny Blakeslee née Hervey (1898-1963).

On 13 September 1940 he enlisted in the in Ontario, Canada, and came to England on 15 May 1941. He was assigned to their from November 1941 to June 1942 at RAF Biggin Hill. and from June to September 1942 he served as the Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force's at . On 18 May 1944 he married Leola Belle Fryer (1917-2005) at , Fleming County, Kentucky, USA and they had one daughter.

He died, aged 90 years, on 3 September 2008 in , Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA. He was cremated and both he and his wife's ashes were , in the , 214 McNair Rd, Arlington, Virginia, USA.
