He was shown as a surgeon in the census that was undertaken on 6 June 1841 and was living in Sackville Street, Westminster, Middlesex (now Greater London), with his wife and their two children Frances Annie Yearsley (1837-1917) and Ralph Owen Yearsley (1841-1917), together with two female servants. Also residing there was William Tyler Smith (1815-1873) - a physician.

He was described as aged 48 years and a medical doctor in the census that was conducted on 30 March 1851. Probate records confirm that he died on 9 July 1869 at his home at 15 Savile Row, Westminster. His Will, with a codicil, was proved on 14 August 1869 by his widow and his two sons: The Reverend Ralph Owen Yearsley - a clerk who was living at Sutton Bonnington, Nottinghamshire and James Fletcher Yearsley - a Barrister-at-Law at Inner Temple in the City of London. His effects were recorded as under £12,000.
