E. H. Blunt

Property developer active 1884-91. The , mentions Blunt twice, as having developed Bramshill Gardens and Chester Road.

Andrew Behan has kindly researched this man, starting with which shows that the landlord of the adjacent Boston Arms public House was an Edward H. Blunt in 1881, which ties up with the name on the plaque on the Stanley Halls & Baths. From census returns and electoral registers I was able to establish that his full name was Edward Henry Blunt and that he was born about 1840/1841 in Clerkenwell. By 1881 he was a widower and had a least five children, Maria F. Blunt born about 1867 in Canonbury, Herbert O. Blunt born about 1874 in Highgate Hill, Geneva Blunt born about 1875 in Highgate, Joan F. Blunt born about 1877 in Highgate Hill and Frank Blunt born about 1877 in Islington. He was still shown as a Licensed Victualler at this public house at the time of the 1891 census but had moved to another public house at 108 Tottenham Court Road, St Pancras by the time of the 1901 census.
