Emanuel Swedenborg

Swedish theologian and polymath. He travelled frequently in Europe and came to London a few times. Lodged in Wellclose Square and attended the nearby Swedish Church. On his last visit, in 1771, he lodged with a wig maker in Clerkenwell where he died and was buried at the Swedish Church but on the 140th anniversary of his death, in 1912/1913, when it was decided that the congregation would vacate the church, his body was moved to Uppsala Cathedral.

The is a good source of information.
