Emmeline Pankhurst

Born Lancashire. Mother of Christabel, Sylvia, Henry (known as Frank, died aged 4), Adela and Henry (Harry).

1886 the family moved from Manchester to Hampstead Road, London, where she ran a fancy goods shop and where defective drainage caused Frank's death in 1888. They then moved to 8 Russell Square. 1893 they returned to Manchester. 1907 Emmeline returned to London and lived in a variety of flats, hotels or with friends while campaigning, until WW1. Then 3 years in Holland Park.
Died in a nursing home at 43 Wimpole Street.
