F. Brader

F. Brader

Alderman in the Borough of Hammersmith in 1948.

Our colleague Andrew Behan has researched this man: Frederick Brader was born about 1880 and in late 1914 he married Lilian Soper in Fulham, their son, Reginald Frederick Brader, being born on 19 November 1915. By 1920, the Electoral Registers show they were living with her parents at 125 Glenthorne Road, Hammersmith, W6. and he was to continue to live here for the rest of his life. The 1939 edition of Kelly's Directory of Hammersmith lists him as a Builder, a Justice of the Peace and a councillor for The Grove & Ravenscourt Ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Hammersmith. He was the Mayor of Hammersmith from 1944 to 1946 and afterwards continued to serve as an Alderman in the Borough. He died on 4 February 1951, aged 70 years at Hammersmith Hospital, Du Cane Road, Shepherds Bush, W12. Probate Records show his estate totalled £364-2s-8d.
