Pilot Officer Frank Norman Bartlett Bennett was born on 30 May 1919, the second of the three sons of Stanley Bartlett Bennett (1885-1966) and Nellie Bennett née Evans (1890-1970). His birth was registered in the Croydon, Surrey, registration district and his father was both a fish salesman and freemason, being a member of the Wembley Lodge No.2914.
In the 1939 England and Wales Register he is shown as a aeronautical engineering student living at 18 Radcliffe Road, Croydon, with his parents, his elder brother Owen Bartlett Bennett (1914-1962), his sister-in-law Pauline Isobel Bartlett née Watson (1915-1994) and his younger brother James Bartlett Bennett (1923-2000).
He joined the and served as a Pilot Officer attached to on Engineering, Administrative or Special Duties.
He married Monica Mary Mason (1922-1996) in the 2nd quarter of 1946 in the Surrey Mid-Eastern registration district. Electoral registers from 1950 to 1953 show them both listed at , Ealing and on 13 July 1953 he is shown on the manifest of the R.M.S. Queen Mary of the Cunard Steam-Ship Company Limited arriving in Southampton, Hampshire, travelling tourist class from New York, USA. His address was also given as 66 Meadvale Road and his occupation was listed as an engineer.
Electoral registers from 1955 to 1961 show them both at Cherrycot, Cunningham Road, Banstead, Surrey and the 1962 registers show their address as , Banstead. The registers from 1966 to 1970 list them both at , Park Road, Banstead.
He died, aged 80 years, on 14 November 1999 and his death was registered in November 1999 in the Surrey South-Eastern registration district and stated that his last address was in Lingfield, Surrey.
