state that he was a 34-year-old Palmers Green Fireman, attached to Finchley Fire Brigade, who plunged fifty feet from a ladder to his death during fire drill practice and rehearsal at Wembley Fire Station, 591A Harrow Road, Wembley, Greater London.

His death was registered as aged 34 years in the 3rd quarter of 1965 in the Brent Registration District, Greater London.

Probate records show that his address had been 485a Green Lanes, Palmers Green, London, N.13. Administration of his estate was granted on 1 October 1965 to his widow and his effects totalled £1,765-0s-0d.

He is shown as 'Fm Donald Owen' on the memorial plaque on the screen wall of the London Fire Brigade Memorial in Highgate Cemetery, Swain's Lane, London, N6 6PJ. He is also commemorated on the National Firefighters Memorial at Sermon Lane, London, EC4, on  and on the .
