Frederick Richards

Son of Anne Richards, born in the City of London (possibly Watling Street where he was "many years resident") and by the age of 30 was recorded as a linen draper at the time of the 1851 Census. By the time of his death he had become a Justice of the Peace (of St Leonards-on-Sea) and lived in Hastings, he is buried in Wadhurst Borough Cemetery with his wife Ann Georgiana Field and their eldest son Frederick. Their other son was Henry. At the time of his marriage, his profession was recorded as warehouse-man, living in the High Street, West Hackney.

Dr Hugh Field-Richards, great-grandson of Frederick Field-Richards, has kindly allowed us to publish his research work, above.

The memorial at Richard's Cross claims he was a resident of St John's Hackney parish 1840 - 1874.
