Geoffrey Chaucer

Poet and administrator. Whilst living in the Aldgate (1374-86) as the ‘Comptroller of the Customs and Subside of Wools, Skins and Tanned Hides’ Chaucer published ‘A Monks Tale’ and worked on ‘Canterbury Tales’.
