R.F. Delderfield

Author. Born Ronald Frederick Delderfield at 37 Waller Road, New Cross. His family moved to Addiscombe near Croydon, which provided the backdrop to his first major novels 'The Dreaming Suburb' and 'The Avenue Goes to War'. He finally settled in Devon, which became the setting for his best known work 'A Horseman Riding By'. Died at his home, Dove Cottage, Manor Road, Sidmouth, Devon.
